Expanding with new items.... Giveaway info!!

I have been making rag wreaths to sell for over 10 months, now. WOW, where did the time go?? So, I decided to expand slightly and start including other items in my repertoire. I started making Bunting. AKA.. banners and pennants, these have become slightly addicting. I have shown them at the last two craft shows I've been in and they received a lot of attention. They are really fun and versatile as they are reversible.

Here I used Michael Miller fabric.

These are really cute also. Being from a largely agricultural, they remind me of growing up.

These are a few of the bunting that I had displayed at the Girlfriends Night Out Craft Fair. If you stopped by my booth, I wanted to say thank you. I met so many wonderful people that night. (Customers and Vendors!!) I was really inspired to keep doing craft fairs after that.  BTW, stay tuned for my next post, I will be announcing the winner of the free 6" wreath!! Good Luck!!!

Stop by my Etsy store and look around. There are many more to chose from. I'm sure you'll see something that you'll love ;-D

Thanks!!!

Valentine's Day and beyond...

Well, Christmas has passed and Valentine's Day is almost upon us. Though, the last Craft Fair was a bust, I decided to forge ahead and try again. This time it will be at the First Assembly of God in Visalia (off of Caldwell and Akers) Friday, February 28th from 5-9 pm. Come down and support your local crafters!! Ok...enough plugs ;-)  Here are a few of the newest wreaths I've made. They are just in time for Valentine's and for that special someone.

This is a 12" hearth wreath made with Valentine fabric. I added some silver charms for a more whimsical effect.

I also made a 6" version using the same fabric, but with different charms.

The charms on the 6" are a silver lock and key. I then decided to get ahead on the holiday thing, so I threw in a Fourth of July wreath with a country feel. It has a cute red, white, and blue charm.

I also started making banners. Some people call them pennants, but either way, they are a delightful way to decorate any room in your house. Here's a few samples.

First Craft Fair.

I attended my first craft fair as a vendor a couple of weeks ago. What an experience! It was the Rust Roots Craft Show and it was crazy. I really didn't know what to expect, being a newbie, but it went fairly smoothly. This was, in part, to all the helpers that showed up ;-)

My girl always makes me smile. Hubby is hiding in the background :-D

My mother and sister were also a big help. We were set up so fast, I was worried that I'd forgotten something.

Almost there!

Idea From Start To Finish

I love the "Splat Witches" that have been popular for a couple of years now.  You can find witches running into just about everything imaginable! Trees, garages, houses, flags, cars, front lawns, you name it, a witch has crashed into it. While they are all fairly similar, I had the idea to take it a step farther.

One of our families favorite Halloween movies is Hocus Pocus.  It's a  wonderful family film. I mean, how can you go wrong with Bette Midler AND Kathy Najimy??!?!?! Anyhooo, I love the costuming in the film. It is actually inspiration for some of my Halloween wreaths. So, I was wanting to incorporate splat witch and Hocus Pocus.... And I came up with "Winnies' Little Girl" or "Flying Lessons"

I found the legs at Beverly's. They are actually for your kitchen table. I used polyfill to stuff into them to make them full. Of course, the wreath is typical of the ones that I sell in my store.

I chose a square to be a little different. I bought a diaper cover and added Halloween ruffles.

I then cinched the legs and top closed.

I decided to make a little skirt/ tutu to take up a little more space in the middle. Not to mention it adds to the "little girl" feel I wanted to convey  ;-)   Then, I tacked it down to the diaper cover.

Since I'd used twine to hold the skirt together, I used the ends to anchor it to the wreath.

I LOVE that little booty!! Debating on trying to find a little broom to add to it...What do you think???  Thanks for stopping by!!
